Mobile Phones - SMS Text Messaging

As you are aware the practice is constantly trying to improve services for our patients in particular telephone access. the results from our random patient survey over the last four months indicate the majority of our patients are happy to be contacted by the surgery on routine matters via sms text messaging to mobile phone. the surgery has therefore implemented this method of contact for a trial period. should you receive a text message from the surgery the sender will appear on your mobile phone as:

YOUR DOCTOR

You will be unable to respond to the surgery message via text

For patients who are happy to be contacted this way for routine matters only then please ensure that our reception staff have your mobile telephone number recorded on your medical record. Of course it is also essential to keep this record up to date therefore any changes of mobile telephone number must be notified to the surgery. Patients who do not wish to be contacted in this way should also inform our reception staff who will note your records accordingly.
