Training Practice

We have acquired training practice status and have a commitment to the education and development of undergraduate (medical students) and postgraduate (junior doctors) colleagues. Medical students and junior doctors may, on occasions, be present in your consultation. This is both beneficial and essential for their training, and your help is very much appreciated. If you choose to withhold your consent, however, your decision will be respected.

We frequently have medical students from Manchester University in their third, fourth and fifth years of training at our practice. In addition, junior doctors from the hospital, with an interest in General Practice intermittently spend time in the practice, as well as a GP registrar who is consistently based with us for their final training year.

Please note that GPs and trainee GPs sometimes video consultations with their patient’s consent. This is an invaluable way to allow doctors to study consultations with colleagues as part of their educational and professional development. We appreciate your cooperation with this and your support is vital for the progression of our practice as a key medical educational institution.
