Important Update for Our Patients
From 1 March 2026, we are changing the way we communicate blood test results.
Unless your result is clinically urgent, you will be notified of your blood results via the NHS App once they have been reviewed by a clinician.
Your clinician will:
Explain this process during your consultation
Ensure you have access to the NHS App
Check that we have your correct contact details
You will be able to view your results as soon as they have been reviewed.
If you are a vulnerable patient, or if you tell your clinician that you do not have access to the NHS App, your results will be failsafed, and a member of our team will contact you directly.
This change supports the patient-led care initiative. We are currently one of the few practices in Wigan that has not yet adopted this approach. Using the NHS App allows patients to receive results more efficiently and promptly.
